Camera Permission
The camera is only on while you take photos, and its image never leaves your browser. You can revoke permission at any time in your browser settings.
Why we need the camera
No camera, no photos from it. Your browser asks for permission when you reach the Shoot step.
When the camera is on
Only on the Shoot step, or in the editor while you retake a single photo. Your browser or device shows its camera indicator, and the camera turns off as soon as you leave.
Is video recorded?
Not as a video. While the countdown runs, Kapturae keeps a short burst of small frames, up to three seconds, to make the GIF. The burst and the photo stay on your device and are never sent to a server.
How to allow or revoke it
Chrome: click the icon to the left of the site address, then change the Camera permission. Safari on iPhone: open Settings, find Safari, then change Camera. Reload the page after changing the permission.
If permission is denied
The camera can't start, and we show a short guide to turn it back on. You can still add photos from your device instead.
